Cycle Hub Trustees

We need additional Trustees to join our friendly Board of Trustees. This will help us to continue managing the charity to keep up with the strong interest in cycling in the RBWM area and deliver our charitable objectives.

What will you be doing?

Attendance at Board meetings (approx 6 -10 per year) to provide governance and ensure we pursue our charitable objectives correctly.

Be an active part of our strategic decision making group, leading an efficient operation, safeguarding our reputation and ensuring our financial stability.

Being part of the trustree team and contributing your business knowledge, common sense and ideas.

Occasionally representing the charity at local events.

What are we looking for?

We are particularly seeking trustees and volunteers with an interest or some experience of the following areas:

Fundraising / income generation (managing grant applications and/or building corporate partnerships)

Comms and Social media : (website, social media, newsletters)

IT / Legal / HR ( Data Protection, Property Management, Data Analysis)

Experience:

Ideally some experience at management / director level in a public sector or commercial organisation, or as a charity trustee.

Able to build positive relationships within the charity and with stakeholders to achieve our charitable objectives.

A reasonable level of business and financial awareness to contribute to decision making with the other trustees.

Knowledge, skills and understanding:

A commitment to our charity’s aims and objectives.

Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort.

An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties and responsibilities of trusteeship.

An ability to work effectively as a member of a small friendly team of charity volunteers, employees and fellow trustees.

What difference will you make?

New trustees bring fresh ideas, plus additional expertise and knowledge, to our board of trustee meetings. This in turn is good for any charity to ensure good standards of governance.

What’s in it for the volunteer?

This is great opportunity to use your skills and knowledge to make a worthwhile contribution to a small friendly charity.

Most of our trustees also play a part in the day to day operational side of the charity or lead special projects e.g. managing the recent move to our new workshop, updating our social media, volunteering a few hours in the shop etc.
