Whether you commute to work by bike or just love cycling for fun, regular servicing is vital to making your bike safe, dependable and efficient.

Cycle Hub’s professional qualified mechanics can service your bike to ensure that it runs smoothly and to help it to last longer.

Before servicing your bike Cycle Hub experts will assess your bike and recommend the appropriate type of service or repair.

We do not provide any servicing or repair support for e-bikes at our workshop.

All servicing takes place at our Bell Street workshop, where all bikes must be delivered and collected.

Cycle Hub Standard Service Packages

Our workshop offers three tiers of cycle servicing. Our professionally qualified mechanics will assess your bike and discuss your requirements before recommending the appropriate service for your bike; but the final choice is yours.

Our service packages do not include the cost of additional parts or electronic gear change servicing.

Tier 1  Service

£45
Ideal for a bike that hasn’t been used for a while. This is a simple service, making adjustments for a smoother running, safe bike.
 
Full Safety Check
Tyres inflated to correct pressure
Gears and brakes adjusted
Gear and brake cables lubricated
All bolts tightened to appropriate torque
Inspection for loose, worn or damaged components
Frame wiped down for inspection

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tier 2 Service

£90
This service should be performed every 6 -12 months depending on how much you ride. Ideal for commuters and regular cyclists.
Everything in Tier 1 plus:
New brake and gear cables fitted and lubricated
Brake bleed for hydraulic brakes
Chain, cassette, chainring, front and rear mechs cleaned, checked for wear and re-lubricated as necessary
Wheel hubs and headset checked for free movement and adjusted if necessary
Bottom bracket bearings removed, cleaned and re-greased
Wheels checked for alignment and trued
 

 

Tier 3 Service

£150
This service includes a full strip down of your bike to frame and forks. Recommended every 12 to 18 months or for high mileage bikes.
Everything in Tier 2 plus:
Wheel hub service – hubs disassembled, inspected, cleaned and reassembled.
Headset service – headset bearings removed, cleaned, re-greased and refitted.
Bottom bracket service – bottom bracket checked for movement, removed, cleaned, re-greased and refitted.
Bottom bracket threads re-tapped and shell refaced as necessary
Rear mech hanger and pedal threads re-tapped as necessary
Wheels trued and re-tensioned
Bicycle washed
