Our Cycle Hub volunteer qualified ride leaders run these organised bikes rides in the local Maidenhead area on Saturdays once or twice a month. The Bike Rides are FREE of charge, and will be either run as a FAMILY /BEGINNEER ride or an ADULT ride and everyone is welcome to come along.
Our Saturday morning FAMILY or ADULT rides start at 10.00 a.m. and are suitable for a wide range of cyclists who would like to cycle more, meet new people and try out some of the great routes right here on our doorstep in the Maidenhead area.
Get the whole family out on their bikes, and join us for a ride of around 8 miles. On cycle paths and led by our experienced volunteers, we’ll ride at a steady pace so everyone has a great time.
We can also run organised rides on request for community groups e.g. guides and scouts.
Routes
Our FAMILY bike rides usually start from one of the following places.
OCKWELLS PARK (from Cox Green to Littlewick Green) or KIDWELLS PARK (from central Maidenhead to Cookham)or
BRAY LAKE ( to Dorney Lake and some of the Jubilee River). They are almost completely off road – on gravel paths, tarmac, low traffic roads etc. Suitable for all cyclists, even children as young as 8 pedaling under their own steam.
Here’s a Strava map of a typical family ride.
Our ADULT bike rides are on quiet roads, typically around Cookham and Burchetts Green. Suitable for more experienced cyclists who are happy to cycle up to 20 miles. We do not have a minimum speed on either ride….no one is left behind!
