Maidenhead Cycle Hub went in to a local Beaver group to work with the 5 1/2 to 8 year old children on basic bike maintenance. There were 3 groups within the session, one which taught them how to change a puncture, one to look at bike safety and what to look out for and the final on how to keep bikes clean. Each child got the opportunity to take part in each session and not only did they really enjoy the session but left with some knowledge to take home to their parents.

Some of the children are unable to ride bikes and as part of one of their special badges they have been tasked with learning to ride by the summer.

It was a hugely successful session and this is now being recommended to other Beavers groups as well as Scout Groups.
